Open your profile folder from the Start Menu. Inside of the Windows Explorer view of your profile, there is a Desktop folder. Rightclick on this folder and select the Restore Previous Versions option. As you can probably guess, you can now view historical snapshots of your desktop contents.

Click "Backup".
Under the "Backup" section, click "Set up backup".
Under the "What do you want to backup?" section, you can choose "Let me choose" to back up files or folders you want.
