I have it 2700 hours played and yes, you have to have PlayStation plus for ANY online gaming, not just bf4… I do believe that you have to get PlayStation Plus to play BattleField 4, however, some games, especially the Free to play games, can be played online for free, without a subscription.

Re: Battlefield 4 wont work on PS4 at all Palmed off by EA chat Agent. Got the problem figured out. Go to settings > system storage management > click applications> click battlefield 4> check the status. For some reason the only files showing in the notification screen are the update file and the new patch.
