How do I Get Linux on my PS3?
Obtain the Fedora Core 9 ISO for the PowerPC and burn it to a DVD.
Download the PS3 Addon Tools ISO and burn it to a CD.
Reformat the PS3 hard drive to support Linux.
Install Linux using the addon tools.
Can I Install Linux on PS3 Slim?
In 2010 Sony published new firmware version 3.21 which removed possibility to install Linux on PS3. Earlier versions was avail only on “Fat” PS3. There is no process to downgrade firmware in PS3. There are some custom roms for old, “fat” PS3,, but its wired and you are on your own.
