What Happen to Evolve Stage 2?
In a post on the 2K website, the company announced Evolves dedicated servers shut down on 3rd September 2018. This means features such as Hunt Ranked, leaderboards and the ingame store wont be available. On 2nd July 2018, Stage 2, the freetodownload version of the game, will no longer be available on PC.
Why was Evolve Shut Down?
The concept for Evolve was completed in 2005, before the development of the first Left 4 Dead game. However, the Evolve project was put on hold, as Turtle Rock thought that the technology at that time was not advanced enough to handle the game's design.

In October 2016, Turtle Rock announced that they would end support for Evolve, and that Evolve: Stage 2 would not be released for consoles, but servers for the game will remain online for 'foreseeable future '. Turtle Rock also revealed that it was 2K's decision to end the game's support.
