Why is my Mac AirPlay Display Off?
Your Apple TV may simply be sleeping – press any button on the remote to wake it up, then check your Macs screen for the Airplay icon. Your Macs firewall may be set to prohibit Airplay. To fix this, click the Apple icon and then the “System Preferences” menu item. Click Security & Privacy, then click Firewall.
How do I Turn on AirPlay on my Mac?
Open System Preferences > Displays.
From the AirPlay dropdown menu, select an available display.
Alternatively, look for the AirPlay icon in the Apple menu bar.
