Lost Within Available on iPhone, iPad, Fire Phone and Fire Tablets!!
Lost Within is now available on iOS in the Apple App Store and Kindle Fire devices in the Amazon App Store. This is a sentence we've been waiting to post for weeks and it feels so good to finally type it out! Lost Within is the end result of more than a year of work on the part of us here at Human Head Studios, but more than that it's our first original IP since Prey. An atmospheric horror title set in an abandoned insane asylum, Lost Within feels a bit like returning home for the guys who brought you brutal Viking combat and stylish dark sci-fi. We're thrilled to be part of the movement bringing premium experiences back to the mobile market, and we think that Lost Within represents a game rarely seen on these platforms. We put a ton of work into bringing you an experience that would look and feel like something you could play on PC or consoles but was tailor-made for touch input. It's been great working with such a forward thinking, committed publisher as Amazon Game Studios. We'd be honored if you give Lost Within a place in your gaming rotation and, more importantly, we hope you have as much fun playing it as we did developing it. Here's to our first release of 2015, Lost Within!

Rune Master Server Update Available!
Rune, both in its original form and with the more recent release of Rune Classic used Game Spy as the Master Server service. With GameSpy's servers closing down forever May 31st, 2014, Human Head has decided to step up and provide a fix to keep Rune players going. Human Head will continue to host our own master server and use various back up master servers being provided by other providers.

All Rune players will need to update their game in order to keep playing Rune uninterrupted.

Original Rune Owners- This update currently works only for Rune 1.07. If you purchased an older Rune disc based version, you will need to download the Rune ini file update from our Rune page. (Copy the INI file to your Rune System folder.)

Steam Rune Classic Owners- If you purchased Rune Classic that you purchased or play via Steam, you should get the update automatically. You shouldn't need to do anything to keep on playing. If you have automatic updates disabled, you will need to manually update Rune Classic on Steam by going to to the game properties and clicking on VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE. This will force an update for your game.

Good Old Games Owners- If you purchased Rune Classic on Good Old Games, you will need to go to your library and update the game. Run the Good Old Games Downloader, go to your library, and select Update Game. This will install the update.

Please note that this update ONLY affects multiplayer games. Single player games will be unaffected either by the shutting down of the GameSpy Servers or the update files.

Prey 2 had me at intergalactic bounty hunter.
Prey 2 had me at intergalactic bounty hunter. I don't need to know how they tie this blending of Red Dead Redemption and Blade Runner into the original Prey, (you're an air marshal on a plane spotted in just a few minutes of the original game). I don't need to have new catchy phrases like alien noir paraded out to sell me on it. All I need to know is that you're a human bad ass taking down alien bounties in an open world.

At Bethesda's booth we had an opportunity to view a live demonstration of the title, and Bethesda has officially proved that a change to the series isn't a bad thing. Prey 2 is built off of the same powerful engine that Rage uses, however in the background of a science fiction universe it looks even more breathtaking. "Prey 2" from Human Head Studios and Bethesda Softworks is by far the underdog who came out on top at this year's E3. This FPS sequel gladly ditches just about everything you know from the original and takes a whole new direction. Playing as well-known bounty hunter, Killian Samuels, you awaken on the alien planet Exodus only to uncover how and why you are there.

Join a bounty hunter on the seedy side of an alien planet.

When I sat down to see a demonstration of Prey 2, I figured I'd see more of what we got in the original Prey: linear gameplay, antigravity tracks, portals, and Native American mythology. What I saw instead was more like Deus Ex by way of Blade Runner.

You play as Killian Samuels, a U.S. Marshal who happens to be on the plane that fans of the first game will remember crashed into the Sphere, the giant alien ship. He survives the crash, then one day wakes up to find himself on Exodus, a planet that is perpetually half in sunlight, half in shade. He's shocked to discover that he's actually been there for years, making a name for himself as a bounty hunter. He thinks he's the only human on the planet, but then runs into our old pal Tommy, and together they go on to affect the fate of Exodus.

E3 and Bethesda Softworks: Rage, Skyrim and Prey 2
Tom's Hardware
Bethesda showed us their latest and greatest for 2011 and 2012, including The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Rage and Prey 2.
Last but not least was Prey 2, the sequel to the sleeper hit from 2006. This time around Human Head Studios is using a heavily modified id Tech 4 engine. You play as Killian Samuels, an Air Marshall that was abducted by aliens and brought to the planet Exodus, There you become a bounty hunter, tracking down the planet's scum for the highest bidder. Simply put, the game looks very sharp, has a great slide-into-cover system, and a dynamic mission system that affects your characters options throughout the game. Should you kill this captured bounty, send him into the client, or let him go for a sizable bribe? Whatever choice you make will affect you throughout the story.

Human Head surprised everyone when it first revealed Prey 2. Tommy, the protagonist from the first game, was moved out of the spotlight, replaced by U.S. Marshall Killian Samuels. He's pulled off a plane at the game's beginning and tossed into an alien world called Exodus. The cool part is that Exodus, or at least one city on it, looks a lot like Los Angeles in Blade Runner. As Killian you'll wander nighttime neon-lit streets choked with steam and flying cars. Shady extraterrestrial peddlers will sell items, others will offer side quests, and you're free to wander around and explore.

Go ahead and throw pretty much everything you know about Prey off a roof. Human Head's sequel is a significant departure from the original. It stars a different protagonist, U.S. Marshall Killian Samuels instead of the first game's Tommy, and completely does away with the portals, resurrection mini-game, gravity switching mechanics and multiplayer. Before you go and get all heated up about Human Head's changes, know this: though Prey 2 may be different, it's one of the most interesting shooters on the horizon.

I'm very surprised. Good surprised, not bad surprised. Prey is not a game I feel anything about, to be completely honest. I know it has its fans, but for me it remains part of that mass of id Tech 4-based stodgy shooters which went heavy on bio-mechanical corridor-pounding gloss at the expense of play I found truly engaging, despite early-game experiments with big ideas. Prey 2? More corridors, more textbook murderous aliens, more blamblamblam, no thank you ma'am.
